Annual Reports

Annual Report to Investors

Postal regulations seem to change every year, which can lead to unexpected increases in costs for a mailed marketing communication piece. For something as important as an annual report, a designer and project manager who understands the regulations and how to exploit them for the benefit of the institution is a true asset.

The 2006-2007 Annual Report for the Lundquist College of Business built on the capital campaign theme “Transforming Lives, Transforming Business.” New postal regulations would have resulted in a postage cost increase of nearly 40 percent.

Taking advantage of the new regulations, Ms. Sundstrom and her design team created a piece that could be mailed at the standard letter, non-profit rate. This not only saved the College a considerable amount of money, but also maintained the previous year’s budget.

The response to the report was very positive. Not only did it raise more money than the previous year’s report, many of those who contributed were new donors. Thus it had the added benefit of being a source of leads for the College’s development officers.
